Prof. Dr. Franziska Müller is investigating the risks that need to be considered in countries such as South Africa, Morocco, or Chile as part of the German Research Foundation funded research project H2POLITICS.

Making Artificial Intelligence Sustainable
SAIL is an interdisciplinary AI research network created by Bielefeld University, Paderborn University, Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. SAIL addresses the next stage of AI development by looking at the entire life cycle of AI systems and their technological and societal impacts. The interdisciplinary research program brings together researchers from AI, engineering as well as the social sciences and humanities.

Scientists at the University of Cologne have shown that the recycling program of cells, autophagy, leads to the fusion of several single cells into multinucleated cell units during wound healing / publication in ‘The EMBO Journal’.

Entering the Quantum AgeCompetence Network “EIN Quantum NRW” launched
Further expanding national leadership in the research and development of quantum technologies, training specialists for this future field and developing applications for business and large-scale industry in the heart of Europe – these are the goals of the new quantum computing network “EIN Quantum NRW,” which pools the expertise of its partners. TU Dortmund University, member of the DWIH NY supporter organization “University Alliance Ruhr”, is on board as a university partner.
