The German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New York is the scientific bridge between the US and Germany.

Founded in 2010 and funded by the German Federal Foreign Ministry and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the DWIH investigates how basic research and emerging technologies affect people and society. Through our events and communications, we encourage transatlantic exchange on topics related the future such as AI, Blockchain and Precision Medicine.

Our network consists of thirty-three partners, including German universities, government organizations and research institutions with a presence in the US. In 2018 we hosted thirty-one events in the US, and in 2019 we were both the official Innovation Partner at the German Pavilion at SXSW in Austin and an official partner of the German Federal Foreign Ministry’s Deutschlandjahr “Wunderbar Together” program.
