Career Goals Without Losing Your Mind: The Importance of Mental Health -- Personal and Professional Perspectives
The 2025 edition of the Make Germany a Part of It! Info Session series focused on mental health as a vital pillar of public health—closely linked to individual well-being, productivity, and social participation. In professional environments—particularly in academia—maintaining mental health was challenging. The demands of research, teaching, publishing, and securing funding often led to chronic stress and other illnesses. These challenges not only affected individual researchers but also undermined institutional resilience and innovation. Addressing mental well-being through supportive structures, open dialogue, and accessible resources was therefore not merely a personal matter, but a shared responsibility across the academic and public health communities. The panelists contributed both their professional insights and personal experiences from navigating high-pressure academic and research careers.
DWIH NY is proud to support this event.
