Falling Walls Lab Toronto

Which wall will your research break? Young reserchers pitched their innovative ideas in just three minutes, showcasing a breakthrough that positively impacts science and society.  

Falling Walls Lab Toronto 2025, proudly supported by DWIH New York, offered an inspiring day of groundbreaking ideas and meaningful exchange. In concise three-minute pitches, the presenters conveyed their visions with clarity, conviction, and creativity.

While each presentation was compelling, three stood out to the jury:

👉 Swapna Mylabathula addressed the urgent need to Break the Wall of Unhealthy Hospital Food, securing third place.
👉 Poorya Saeedloo presented impressive advances in Breaking the Wall of Passive Bone Grafts, earning second place.
👉 Artem Kushnirenko delivered a dynamic and persuasive pitch on Breaking the Wall of Surgical Automation, winning first place and the opportunity to present at the Falling Walls Foundation Science Summit in Berlin this November.

The jury, comprising Akshita Vincent, Erum Razvi, Jessica Pressey, Katie Pereira, and our Head of Programs, Jan Lüdert, commended the exceptional quality, originality, and intellectual rigor of all participants.

About Falling Walls

The Falling Walls Lab is an interdisciplinary format to showcase the next generation of top researchers developed and hosted annually by the Falling Walls Foundation in Berlin in November. In 3-minute talks, outstanding talents and innovative thinkers share their research projects, business models and social initiatives with an interdisciplinary audience and jury. Academic institutions worldwide are invited to host their own Falling Walls Lab and to send their winner/s to the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin.
