GAIN Conference 2025
The GAIN Conference 2025 – the largest German science and research career fair in the U.S. – takes place from August 29–31, 2025 in Boston. Early-career researchers and top institutions come together for networking, career opportunities, and innovation exchange.
At the GAIN Conference 2025, early-career researchers, representatives from German universities, research institutions, funding organizations, and policymakers will gather in Boston to network, exchange ideas, and explore career opportunities.
GAIN25 offers a dynamic program with panel discussions, workshops, science pitches, and extensive networking sessions. The conference promotes transatlantic exchange and highlights pathways for researchers to pursue careers in Germany.

GAIN Science Slam
Welcome on stage: the GAIN Science Slam is all about science communication. A group of international researchers from various fields will present their findings in a five-minute pitch in front of the GAIN25 audience. The objective is to impart current research results to a diverse audience in an understandable and entertaining way. Various presentations suitable for the format are allowed. The GAIN audience is also the Science Slam Jury and DWIH NY’s Head of Programs Dr. Jan Lüdert serves as co-moderator.
The best slammer will receive a $3,000 check! Proudly presented by the German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New York.
The GAIN25 Science Slam will take place on 30 August, 2025, 5:15pm – 6:45pm EST

The GAIN Conference is organized by the German Academic International Network (GAIN) and supported by DAAD, DFG, AvH, and BMFTR.
The German Academic International Network (GAIN) is the network of scientists and researchers of all disciplines from Germany, working at leading research institutions worldwide with special focus on the United States and Canada. It is a joint initiative of three major research funding organizations in Germany, the DAAD, AvH and DFG.
