The German Center for Research and Innovation New York (DWIH) supports the exchange of ideas in areas of knowledge that will be critical in the future through events, networking and showcasing the work of German and international scholars. We focus on topics particular to the American research and innovation landscape, as well as the single, unifying topic chosen by the program committee for all six DWIH each year.

Make Germany a Part of It!

Research for All: Building Bridges between Research and Society.

Discover what Germany has to offer for your research career. Meet representatives from universities and funding organizations, learn about exciting opportunities through concise “punchy pitches,” and build valuable connections over drinks and networking. The evening will also explore how researchers can communicate effectively, engage diverse audiences, and strengthen public trust in science.

For the fourth time, this event brings together postdocs from New York and university representatives from Germany.

Under the theme “Research for All: Building Bridges between Research and Society. Making Impact and Reaching the Right Audiences,” we will discuss how researchers can effectively engage with diverse audiences, communicate complex ideas, and build trust in science.

Inspired by the DWIH annual theme “Science for Society,” the event highlights the shared responsibility of researchers, institutions, and science communicators to connect knowledge with society and strengthen the role of research in public discourse.

Meet representative from DAAD, DFG, Humboldt Foundation, University Alliance Ruhr, Berlin University Alliance, University of Cologne, Heidelberg University, University of Freiburg, Campus OWL.
