#SCALEability: ED-Tech Transfer in Germany and the US
Join us on June 9th for SCALEability: ED-Tech Transfer in Germany and the US, hosted by University Alliance Ruhr, 1014 – space for ideas and the German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New York.
We are thrilled to welcome Prof. Tish Jennings from the University of Virginia and Prof. Bettina Lucia Amrhein from the University of Duisburg-Essen, who will share valuable insights from their research and the challenges of scaling an entrepreneurial venture born out of research. DWIH New York’s Head of Programs Dr. Jan Lüdert is going to serve as a chair at the event.
The roundtables will explore innovation processes and funding landscapes, highlighting opportunities and barriers in developing scalable models of knowledge transfer.

Patricia (Tish) Jennings is a professor of education and internationally recognized leader in the fields of social and emotional learning and mindfulness. Jennings led the team that developed Cultivating Awareness and Resilience in Education (CARE), a mindfulness-based professional development program shown to significantly improve teacher well-being, classroom interactions and student engagement in the largest randomized controlled trial of a mindfulness-based intervention designed specifically to address teacher occupational stress. CARE research has been evaluated and confirmed by What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) and is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to promote educator wellbeing.Prof. Patricia A. Jennings, University of Virginia

Prof. Dr. Bettina Amrhein is a professor of inclusive education and diversity at the University of Duisburg-Essen. She trains teachers in addressing (emotional) diversity and supports schools around the world in their inclusive school development processes. A particular focus of her work is the question of how we can make schools emotionally safe spaces for students and educational staff. As part of the transfer project Umbraise, she and her team offer a new science-based and practice-oriented support structure for educational institutions in dealing with behavior perceived as disruptive.Prof. Dr. Bettina Amrhein, University of Duisburg-Essen
