Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz-Prizes 2025

The Leibniz Prize, awarded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), is Germany’s most prestigious research funding award, providing €2.5 million in prize money. This year, it recognizes ten scientists, granting them seven years of research freedom.
The 2025 Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize, Germany’s most prestigious research award, has been granted to 10 outstanding scientists selected from 142 nominees.
This year’s awardees represent a diverse range of fields:

🔬 3 from the natural sciences
🛠️ 1 from engineering
Each recipient will receive €2.5 million in funding, giving them up to seven years of research freedom with no bureaucratic hurdles.
