News from the University Alliance RuhrMore than 50 new professorships
The four Research Centers and the College of the University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr) have established a new research hub in the Ruhr region, a renowned science metropolis. To date, 27 top international scientists have chosen to pursue their careers at UA Ruhr, joining one of its three partner universities: Ruhr University Bochum, Technical University of Dortmund, or University of Duisburg-Essen. Altogether, the centers and the college will create more than 50 new research professorships.

Manual work often leads to physical strain and injuries – a reality Viola Bartels experienced firsthand during her work in orthopedic technology. Together with her co-founder Miguel Bravo Cabrera, she established Digity, a start-up based in Göttingen specializing in hand and finger exoskeletons. In November, both founders participated in our STEP USA University Program, a dynamic 4-day startup bootcamp held in the heart of New York City. The program offered interactive seminars, workshops, and networking opportunities, helping them lay the groundwork for a successful expansion into the U.S. market.
