From January 10-15, the Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRBAM) took place in Washington D.C. With around 10.000 participants the TRBAM is one of the largest transportation related conferences worldwide. It covers all transportation modes and brings together academia, administration, research, and industry. The conference is accompanied by an exhibition with organizations showcasing technologies, innovations, and transportation solutions.

The Transportation Research Board TRB is part of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.

BASt plays an active role in TRB. It uses the conference to contribute its expertise in a wide range of areas and to strengthen and establish partnerships. At TRBAM 2026, Dr. Dirk Jansen (Head of Section Analysis and Development of Pavement Structures) gave a presentation on the international perspective on road repair and maintenance; furthermore he organized and moderated the Deflection at Road Traffic Speed (DaRTS) User Group Meeting.

In addition, BASt researchers co-authored several scientific papers and were involved in the review process for the submitted papers.
