Study at Germany’s university center of excellence for digital engineering!

The rapid evolution of computer systems and technologies influences all industries, requires innovative solutions and actively shapes change processes in business, science and society. The Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam near Berlin, Germany, offers a key resource for this dynamic development with its new international Master’s degree program in “Computer Science”.

The interdisciplinary, English-language course combines various computer science disciplines to address the future-oriented issues of our time: From digitalization in medicine to the development of artificial intelligence that acts inclusively and responsibly.

A five-track structure, based on HPI’s interdisciplinary research clusters, allows students to discover the diversity of computer science while specializing in the area that interests them the most. Among them are tracks focused on highly relevant topics such as data and AI, digital health or security engineering. An “Open Track” option allows students to take modules from all areas, so that the program can also be studied without specialization.

Alongside a focus on improving students’ methodological competence at research level, HPI also places special emphasis on an education on a more person-related level, offering students elective modules from the area of professional skills, including design thinking, entrepreneurship and management courses.

The study program is tuition free and culminates in the Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree, awarded jointly by the Digital Engineering Faculty of the Hasso Plattner Institute and the University of Potsdam.

International students are explicitly encouraged to apply. The application deadline for the program is the 1st of June. International students who have obtained a first degree outside of Germany have the additional option to apply for a monthly scholarship to support living costs until the 12th of May.
